Aftercare

After the excitement and whim of getting your tattoo, you might have completely forgot what to do next!

There’s three different ways to heal your new tattoo, and here’s what you need to know.

Extended Wear (3-5 Days)

Wear the clear bandage for 3-5 days, then with clean hands, gently remove the bandage by slowly pulling up the corners while running the tattoo under warm water.

After the bandage is removed, use your clean hands to wash the area thoroughly with a fragrance-free, antibacterial soap and warm water. Rinse well, ensuring all soap is washed away and pat dry with a clean paper towel. Do Not Rub.

Replace after 24 Hrs

Roughly 24 hours after getting tattooed, gently remove the bandage by slowly pulling up the corners while running the tattoo under warm water.

Do Not Rip Or Pull Off When Skin Is Dry. Run the bandage under warm running water for 5-10 minutes before removal.

After the bandage is removed, use your clean hands to wash the area thoroughly with a fragrance-free, antibacterial soap and warm water. Rinse well, ensuring all soap is washed away and pat dry with a clean paper towel. Do Not Rub.

Using the new bandage your artist gave you, peel the white side first, center it with your tattoo leaving a 2-inch margin around the tattoo. Once placed, remove the clear side following the yellow arrows. Keep bandage on for up to 5 days.

Dry Heal

The next morning, gently remove the bandage. Using your clean hands, wash the area thoroughly with a fragrance-free. antibacterial soap and warm water. Rinse well ensuring all soap is washed away and pat dry with a clean paper towel. Do Not Rub.

After the tattoo has been washed, cover the area with loose clothing. There is no need to use any ointments or lotion.

Before going to bed on the second night, rewrap with household plastic wrap.

Continue to wash the tattoo twice daily.

Typically, by day three, your tattoo will appear dry and itchy. You may begin to use a very thin layer of fragrance-free lotion to relieve the dryness.

Continue to wash and moisturize the tattoo regularly until the skin is no longer dry and/or feels like the rest of the surrounding skin.

  • Do NOT submerge the tattoo in ANY water for at least two weeks. (Saunas and steam rooms included)

  • Do NOT pick or scratch

  • No exercise for at least three days

  • Always keep your tattoo protected from the sun. You may begin using sunscreen AFTER the tattoo is healed.
